The U19 Cricket World Cup was originally planned to be hosted in Sri Lanka but after the conclusion of Cricket World Cup 2023, the ICC panel reviewed the policies and structure of Sri Lankan Cricket and decided to impose a provisional ban on them which meant they could no longer host ICC events along with their finances as per the ICC revenue share model are also on hold until they adapt the ICC guidelines and remove all the political influence from cricket related matters. ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Event Details
Under-19 World Cup 2024 will be the 15th edition of the tournament and it is similar to ODI World Cup but for the emerging U19 cricketers who often represent the senior national team later on. After the host nation got changed, ICC had to update the u19 cricket world cup 2024 fixtures as initially it was planned to be played from 13th January but now it will be started from 19th January instead. In this edition, 16 teams participating in the tournament and they are divided into four groups.

Under-19 World Cup 2024 Schedule
ICC has finally confirmed the much-awaited U19 World Cup 2024 schedule after a bit of uncertainty going around with the provisional ban imposed on Sri Lanka. The ban doesn’t impact the participation of Sri Lanka in ICC events.
The tournament will kick off with the host nation South Africa taking on West Indies while there is another associate teams game scheduled on the opening day as well. Team India who has won the U19 title five teams already will start their World Cup journey on the 20th of January against Bangladesh who were the Champions of the 2020 U19 World Cup.

Playing Venues in ICC U19 WC 2024
The venues selected for the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 have history to support a bit of bounce and spin. Nearly, all teams will have to look at their spin resources carefully who can create a big impact in the middle overs and stop the flow of runs. At the start of the tournament, we expect to see good scores of upwards of 280 but as the tournament progresses the pitches will get used up and we can see scores of 230 to 250 prove to be the winning ones.

Team India will be playing their all three matches at the Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein which is historically a good venue to bat first and put up a big score. Under lights this venue, does offer some bounce and seam movement while spinners have also enjoyed bowling here under lights.
