Brisbane Heat 2022-23 Squad Preview & Match Schedule
Brisbane Heat became the BBL Champions in the 2012-2013 season and since then they have not been able to get their hands on the beautiful Big Bash Glory trophy mainly Brisbane Heat 2022-23 because of the inconsistent performances along with too many changes in leadership and players not available for the entire season. In an official press release made by the franchise as well as CA, we now know the complete Brisbane Heat squad 2022-23 along with BBL 2022-23 schedule Brisbane Heat. In the last season, they suffered a lot of chaos after they were hit by the covid-19 impact which forced their 12 players along with the coach to go into isolation for seven days after that, they were not able to recover, and lost their last six games to finish.
Brisbane Heat 2022-23 Team Preview
Wade Seccombe along with his other coaching and support staff has all been retained by the franchise to continue the good things they achieved last year. Usman Khawaja is the new induct into the team and has been confirmed as Brisbane Heat captain 2022-23. Usman played for Sydney Thunders in the last season.
They will most likely be the most affected franchise in terms of International commitments because many of their top International stars from Australia are in the test squad against South Africa and will most likely be selected for the upcoming Australia tour of India in 2023. Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Neser & Mitchell Swepson are a few International stars they will some due to Test matches.

Marnus Labuschagne will come as a replacement player once the overseas players leave the team and he is expected to play at least six matches in the back half of the BBL after the test series against South Africa finishes.
They made quite a big change in their Brisbane Heat 2022-23 team squad by removing Chris Lynn, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Matthew Willans, Ben Duckett, Tom Abell & Connor Sully from the previous year’s squad. The latest additions in Brisbane Heat players for BBL 12 are Sam Billings, Spencer Johnson, Usman Khawaja, Colin Munro, Matthew Renshaw & Ross Whiteley.
In the draft event, the strategy from the heat was not that complex. They went for the star performers who have previously done quite well for other franchises but they choose not to use the retention option.
Usman Khawaja Brisbane Heat
Usman has been a permanent member of Sydney Thunders for so long and he has performed pretty consistently for the franchise as well. But it was a natural transition for him to take over the leadership role in a different franchise. Usman has lived and played all his cricket in Queensland and he is absolutely thrilled to finally get a chance to wear teal for the first time and play in a special atmosphere at the Gabba. Earlier, this year he signed a four-year contract with Brisbane Heat to play in KFC Big Bash League.
So far he played 59 matches in which scored 1818 runs at an average of 34.30 with a strike rate of 129.86. His highest score in BBL is 109* and he has two centuries at the Big Bash level.

Key Players This Season
Brisbane has got many top players in their line up but due to International commitments, there will be chops and changes in their lineup. Young prospects like Xavier Bartlett will be crucial for them to go past the group stage and we have seen some glimpses of his brilliant talent last year before covid ruined it all. Matt Renshaw is another player to watch out for as he played some important knocks for Adelaide Strikers in the previous seasons. Once Khawaja joins the team after the South Africa test series they will have a top player as an opener who can not only score runs but induct his energy on the field as a leader.
