Steve Smith Lights Up BBL With His Maiden Ton For Sixers
The 45th match in the BBL 2022/23 is currently ongoing between Sydney Sixers & Adelaide Strikers in which Adelaide Strikers won the toss and elected to field first. Both teams are competing to be among the top two teams in Big Bash this season where Sixers are currently sitting in the 2nd spot with 15 points while the Strikers are in the 4th spot & got 10 points till now.
Smith’s Maiden Century in BBL
Steve Smith is currently playing for the Sixers after getting free from International duties and today he created history after achieving his first-ever century at the Big Bash. He came to the crease very early as Josh Philippe lost his wicket by scoring only one run. Today luck surely was with Smith as he survived the bowled-off Conway when he was just on 2 runs. Ball did hit the wicket but no bails came off even the light didn’t come off so he survived an early scare immediately after this he smashed Conway off six which indicated today seems to be the lucky day for Smith to make it count.
Smith scored 101 runs off just 56 deliveries with five fours and seven sixes in his innings. He scored his maiden BBL ton with an amazing strike rate of 180.35 which helped the Sixers reach a big total of 203 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
The unique thing about Smith’s century today as he started his innings with a six and he completed his innings with a six as well before getting run out.
Sensational 🤩
