The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League will be played in Mumbai on two different cricket stadiums mainly because the WPL is starting just eight days after the conclusion of the Women’s T20 World Cup which is to be played in South Africa. Due to logistical reasons, it was decided to host complete WPL in a single venue because many players & coaches will have to directly travel to India from South Africa to participate in this event.
