Kane Williamson just before coming to Pakistan has announced to leave the test captaincy so in this series, Tim Southee will be taking over the responsibility of a leader. Kane might have taken this decision to focus more on the limited format because of the ICC ODI World Cup Scheduled in 2023. This tour of Pakistan will also provide a good opportunity for the kiwis to understand more about the sub-continent conditions which will be very similar to what is going to be available in India for the World Cup.

Pakistan Test Squad has seen some changes which played against England. Faheem Ashraf & Mohammad Ali have been left out while Azhar Ali took retirement and Haris Rauf was injured. Kamran Ghulam might play as a debutant against the Kiwis with Hasan Ali making a comeback who is by far the best reverse swing bowler Pakistan got.

NZ tour of PAK 2022/23 Series Prediction

Pakistan has had an awful time in the recently concluded series against England where they were whitewashed by 3-0 with a poor display of batting and below-average bowling. Only the debutant Abrar Ahmed looked threatening with the ball but even so his lack of experience at this level had caused him to leak too many easy runs. Babar Azam didn’t play Sarfaraz Ahmed against England who was in better touch domestic which was heavily criticized by many cricket fans and journalists across Pakistan. However, against New Zealand, we might see some changes in the team squad of Pakistan because the new Chairman Mr. Najam Sethi has taken over as PCB Chairman by replacing Ramiz Raja who gave away some childish statements in the recent past about poor pitch creation, as well as Peshawar, being the red zone which didn’t go too well in Pakistan.

With all the above-mentioned problems, they are currently facing we believe New Zealand will defeat Pakistan in the test series and they also have an 80% chance of winning the ODI series as well because Shaheen & Haris Rauf might not be available to play the ODI series due to recent injury concerns. Tom Latham & Daryl Mitchell are expected to be the highest run scorers in the test series.
