After a poor performance in IPL 2022, the team management of KKR retained only 14 players from the previous squad and picked only eight players at the mini-auction event even though they had 11 slots available. Franchise has confirmed Shreyas Iyer as KKR team captain 2023 and it is a good decision because Shreyas has been scoring runs on a consistent basis at the International level and he is someone who is full of confidence right now which is a great thing to have in a leader.
